When is the next meeting of Friends of Franklin?

During the school year, FOF always meets on the second Tuesday of the month. The meetings alternate between mornings after drop-off and evenings at 6 p.m. Please check our calendar for exact dates and times, and plan to join us!

I’m a new parent. How can I make sure I’m in the loop?

Make sure you’re signed up to receive our email newsletter (email to get added to the mailing list). “Like” us on Facebook (and encourage other parents to do so as well). Connect with your room parent. Come to a FOF meeting if you can.

What programs does Friends of Franklin support?

Friends of Franklin has raised funds to support:

• Arts enrichment programs for each student, including dance, theater and visual arts
• Regular music instruction for every student, and additional choral and orchestra programs
• A major technology upgrade, including an iPad for each teacher and a cart of iPads for use in classrooms
• Teachers’ assistants and a reading interventionist
• A full-time nurse
• A full-time plant manager
• Field trips and in-class experiences
• Classroom materials and enrichment tools

What are the afterschool options at Franklin?

Franklin Kids is an afterschool enrichment program that includes classes in art, theater, science, and physical education, targeted homework help, playground activities as well as creative art projects tied to upcoming holidays and school events.

There is also LAUSD’s Beyond the Bell program which provides an afterschool playground program for students from 2nd through 5th grade.
